Width, depth + room planning

Size the laboratory workbench around equipment, reach and circulation.

Many STK LABS platforms are available in one or more common widths—48, 60, 72 and 96 inches. The selected product record determines the exact width and depth combinations available.

Planning guide

Use this as planning guidance, then validate the final procedure against the selected product, facility requirements and approved documents.

01

Start with the equipment

Place the required equipment before dividing the remaining surface into working zones.

  • Record equipment width, depth and service clearances
  • Allow room for controls, doors and removable panels
  • Identify the seated or standing work zone
  • Keep frequently used items within a practical reach
02

Choose a published bench size

Use the exact product page rather than assuming every width and depth combination is offered on every platform.

  • 48 inches for compact equipment or focused task zones
  • 60 inches for a broader single-user work zone
  • 72 inches for larger equipment or divided activities
  • 96 inches for long assemblies or shared process space where published
03

Check the room around it

The bench footprint is only one part of the laboratory plan.

  • Confirm doors, elevators and the installation path
  • Protect required circulation and equipment access
  • Include shelves, monitors and accessories in the full envelope
  • Validate facility-specific clearances before release
